IT Project Manager

Our Client, one of the largest companies in the entertainment industry, is currently looking for an IT Project Manager to join their team!

The position  will report into the Information Technology organization.  Internally the individual will partner closely with the Software Development, Media Engineering and Sales groups. The specific product the person will be responsible for is our video on demand content for playback on Smart Set-top boxes.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree with a preference in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (Preferred)
  • Experience as project manager overseeing technology related initiatives
  • 2+ Experience as member of a product or software development group (MUST)
  • 2+ Experience in a company operating in either broadcast, gaming, mobile application development, or media industry
  • 2+ Experience with Quality Assurance (QA) in software development project
  • A baseline understanding and practical implementation of software development methodologies.
  • Professional fluency in English and Spanish

Capable of demonstrating previous experience in some of the following areas:

  • Streaming media or encoding technologies (MUST)
  • TV Everywhere
  • OTT (over-the-top)
  • Authentication technology
  • Media applications for mobile, web or other smart devices
  • Acquisition and Broadcast workflows
  • Traffic & Scheduling
  • Digital Asset Management (DAM)

Responsibilities

  1. Understanding of software development life cycle
  2. Highly technical with ability to understand new technologies
  3. Understanding of digital supply chain with regards of processing and distributing VOD content
  4. Understanding or capability to learn about Digital Rights Management (DRM) for video, streaming media formats and protocols, authorization between affiliates and the consumer application
  5. Great communication ability with B2B customers, technology and non-technical teams
  6. Ability to represent complex ideas in simple terms
  7. Understands technology to anticipate issues, or provide guidance to teams on considerations to successfully deliver system modifications
