Sr. Project Manager (Banking)
The Sr. Project Manager must have solid business acumen; clear understanding of the PM best practices – including resource planning, ability to collaborate with multiple internal groups and work with Executive sponsors and stakeholders and ability to implement PMO best practices, processes and methodologies.
Our client is a mid-size private bank in Miami.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Solid understanding of PMBOK, industry project management processes, methodologies and tools including MS Project is a must
- Understanding of resource management/capacity planning concepts, methodologies and techniques
- Knowledge and experience of CPM (Critical Path Method) principles of project scheduling
- Detail oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both, English and Spanish
- Ability to adequately organize and structure presentations and reports is a plus
- Solid organizational and Time Management skills
- Ability to conduct analysis, document functional/nonfunctional requirements
- Ability to resolve problems with clearly identifies root cause and preset recommendations
- Ability to work independently and in a highly matrix environment
Responsibilities
- Gather requirements and document projects vision and objectives
- Assist in overseeing, coordinating, and reporting status of the Bank’s project portfolio
- Assist in the implementation, control and monitoring of the Project Management best practices and company’s Project Management Methodology
- Support all phases of the project life-cycle: Initiation, Planning, Executing and Controlling, and Closing
- Support individual projects by providing assistance, advice and guidance regarding project management to assure maximum benefit
- Provide quality assurance role ensuring that projects are well managed and adhere to appropriate standards, good practices and governance
- Manage Projects, monitor and control the execution of projects
- Train personnel in the PMO, processes, procedures, and methodology best practices
- Assist in the implementation of resource management/capacity planning process
Education / Training
- BS in Computer Science or related field
- PMP certification is highly desired
Background
- 5+ years as a Project Manager
- Experience with financial and banking systems would be a plus
- Change and Risk Management experience is desirable
