Our client is an innovative company within the e-commerce industry, they are currently looking for a Director of eCommerce Merchandising and Supply Chain Management to join their team.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • 6+ years of e-commerce of product sourcing, buying & purchasing – national and international – Asia
  • 3-5+ years of experience in adult toy industry
  • 3-5+ years of ecommerce organization and/or start-up environment
  • 4+ years of warehouse management 3PL /Logistics/product flow
  • 4+ years of product cost accounting, forecasting, and analysis
  • 3+ years of reporting and analytics – relational database(s)
  • 3+ years of lifestyle product buying and purchasing
  • 3+ years of order management
  • 3+ years of product P&L operations, budget management, and logistics operations
  • Strong product planning, selling and buying – ideal in consumer electronics e-commerce arena
  • Strong project and resource management
  • Preferred cross-category (health, wellness, adult retail, etc.) merchandising background within an e-commerce/customer-based business model
  • Experience analyzing markets and trends, anticipating and identifying opportunities and developing strategic insights
  • Excellent business judgment and quantitative skills
  • Strong problem solver, interpersonal skills, team player, organized and ability to prioritize
  • Clear demonstration of internal cross-functional partnership and collaboration

  • Overseeing and managing company’s overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity.
  • Support the team as requested and needed with the daily and overall operation and success of web properties and visual and product merchandising.
  • Handle all logistical needs of the company, oversee creation of processes and methods to gather supply chain data.
  • Develop requirements and standards (e.g. procurement, shipping, etc.)
  • Analyze, optimize, and oversee inventory procedures and relationships with suppliers/manufacturers.
  • Own all planning, buying and merchandising related strategies and tactics for all products.
  • Bring a strong experience and execution on how merchandising impacts and drives via weekly reporting & analytics creation.
  • Maintain e-commerce categories & assortments, determining optimal product mix based on category goals, performance, and designated roles.
  • Perform detailed trend analysis for brands and products to support the buying and cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct research to stay on the pulse of trends in online retail with a focus on health & wellness, customer first design, personalization & the adult novelty industry.
  • Partner with the marketing team to develop projects to maximize online merchandise presentation, developing category, seasonal, themed or product-based landing pages.
  • Determine strategies to build average order values through effective selling of products and add-ons, and through product assortments.
  • Regularly reviews product pages in assigned categories to ensure content is accurate, current and is presented in a way that encourages purchases.
  • Managing direct staff and outsources as needed.
  • Plan, analyze and execute major vendor programs for targeted growth areas.
  • Plan and analyze vendor performance and adjust as necessary.
  • Negotiate with vendors for best possible terms, discounts, and freight costs.
  • Search out new merchandise and merchandise trends. Develop and test new items. Identify and maximize hot selling items, identify slow items and develop plans to liquidate them.
  • Develop and analyze open-to-buy plans and inventory stock levels to maximize sales and profit goals.
  • Be the company’s point person for all oversea related business (esp. Asia); especially maintain ongoing communication with the sourcing team by email and phone. Work closely with sourcing agents to ensure best quality, availability, and price (best practice).
  • Perform research and competitive analysis on products and industry trends.
  • Handle relationship with all of the company’s vendors and brand partners.

Education / Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
