Indirect Procurement Specialist (JN -092019-4023)

Our client is a leading telecommunication and digital services provider which serves 50 million customers and employees over 12,000 people around the world. They are currently looking for a Indirect Procurement Specialist. 

This role would be responsible for executing the local and regional Procurement of Indirect materials and services, covering sub-categories in Sales & Marketing, Customer Operations, Professional Services, Contract Labor, Facility Management, and various tail-end procurement categories.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Native Spanish, comfortable in English
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and MS Word
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate (verbal / written) to country or functional leadership
  • Willingness to travel, for at least 15% of the time

Responsibilities

Understand the end-user requirements and prepare & execute the sourcing and contracting for indirect materials and services, in line with the procurement strategies defined at Group and Local level. The Indirect spend area includes:

-Sales & Marketing services & materials, including events

-Customer Operations, including contact center operations

-Professional services, including HR services and consulting services

-Contract Labor

-Facility Management (outside the telco network scope)

-Various other tail-end indirect categories

  • Identify, develop and manage local & regional suppliers relevant for the Indirect materials & services spend area.
  • Ensure appropriate contract handover to end-users, and ensure the execution of related purchase transactions (Master Data management, Purchase Order creation, Blanket PO / Catalogue setup and use, timeline reception and invoice payment) either by yourself, by the end-use departments, or by the accounting & treasury teams
  • Ensure spend transparency and process compliance for the indirect products & services
  • Provide oversight to the supply chain planning of Indirect materials
  • Fine-tune all related regional and local procurement processes & systems

Key Interfaces

  •  Works closely with End-Users to proactively understand their purchase requirements and follow-up on purchase execution and supplier deliveries
  •  Negotiates with and coaches Suppliers (external) to ensure end-user requirements are met in a timely, cost-effective and compliant manner
  • Supports the Local and Regional Procurement Managers with the execution of the defined category strategy
  • Liaises with the Shared Services Team to ensure the appropriate execution of master data management and purchase transactions
  • Presents initiative progress and purchase results to Local Management and Group Procurement responsible

Education / Training

  • College Degree, ideally with a focus in Finance, Procurement or Engineering

Background

  • At least 3 years of business experience, of which at least 1 year in a procurement role, ideally covering Indirect spend areas
  • Experience with working in and coordinating cross-functional and cross-border teams
  • Experience with independently conducting supplier negotiations for purchases >$100,000
