Purchaser (JN -092019-4040)

Our client is an E-commerce company specialized in consumer electronics, and is looking for a Purchaser, who will be responsible for sourcing deals for drop shipping and occasionally procuring wholesale inventory. This will involve juggling constant communication with vendors, suppliers, content listing team, and customer service. Deals will be always changing and distributed with subscribers via email newsletters and affiliate connections. Acquiring new vendors and maintaining existing relationships will be key to this role.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Direct responsibility for P&L of multi million dollar categories
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite / Google GSuite
  • Must have a demonstrated business acumen
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a proven track record of delivering results while juggling multiple projects
  • Examples of having met weekly deadlines with moving targets with an understanding of the impact it has to category P&L
  • Evidence of maintaining focus in a whirlwind of change
  • Proof of business-polished written and verbal communication
  • Experience displaying the ability to manage a category at both macro and micro level and an understating of the impact it has on the organization as a whole.
  • Preference given to candidates with e-commerce and/or brick and mortar experience and those well-versed in industry trends in the Consumer Tech category

Responsibilities

  • Source and solidify top-tier-brand relationships, in order to curate products that consumers will love
  • Negotiate terms of sale, price point, and margin
  • Actively manage, mentor and develop a team of buyers
  • Research product landscape to keep current with industry trends and pricing dynamics in the consumer-product-goods space
  • Ability to manage category selection to optimize sales and the customer experience.
  • Ability to influence and work well with other departments
  • Possible travel (up to 10%) to trade shows and vendor locations

Education / Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Background

  • 3+ years of experience in buying, with evidence of successful negotiation in competitive market (Ecommerce, consumer tech , Cellphone category, Business To consumer. Retail purchaser)
